Allentown State Hospital

What a neat place! I thoroughly enjoyed walking the halls of this old (old) building. It definitely looked like what one would expect in a turn-of-the-century mental hospital. There are even antiquated tunnels beneath the building, which we were fortunate enough to traverse, that were used to take patients from one place to another. There was a lot of marble architecture in the main entrance of the building, and a marble winding staircase with a wrought metal railing led upstairs toward the top of the cupola and spire. The view was amazing; the grounds in front of the hospital are very picturesque, with trees lining two drives leading up to the old institution.
