Nurse's Notes: "If you ever go across the sea to Ireland..."

In September, my family, along with my mom's parents, took a trip to Dublin, Ireland, and London, England. Many memories were made, and many sights seen. Some of highlights of Dublin were: a bus tour of the city, the old dungeon, and a drive through the countryside to an old castle. In London, we saw many iconic buildings: the House of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the London Bridge (we walked across both the lower and upper walkways), St. Paul's Cathedral etc. Among the places we toured were Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle (two of the three current residences of Queen Elizabeth II), the Tower of London (which was guided by a uniformed Yeoman Warder or "Beefeater"), and a huge very upscale department store (ok, that one was self-guided.) :-) My favorite part was the Tower of London, in which are housed the Crown Jewels. Encrusted with thousands of diamonds, the coronation crown was the largest. Also, the Hope Diamond was visible at the top of the scepter; many other pieces were on display, too.

Trying new foods, spending time playing games or resting, and sightseeing all made for a memorable time with family!
